Hello Again Everyone!

Long time no post.  I have been working on several updates to the website. After updating the website, I have added quite a few new things for users to play around with.

Autocomplete

So that users can search for products easily, I've implemented Autocomplete when searching for products on the site. I want to thank Mashrul Haque for his EasyDev.AutoComplete open source Blazor component. It’s thanks to the component that we have such a descriptive auto complete, where users can not only get names of products but the name of the product creators and the category that the product belongs to.

This was a lot of work to get working correctly, but I am happy that I was able to get that working.

Recently Modified/Updated Formats

Off to the left side of the home page, I’ve added a recently update formats portion, where it’ll display the five most recent update formats. These help with showing how often the website is being updated and how many  Currently you can only see the date and time in UTC that it was updated at. I will be adding fuzzy dates soon and potentially dates based on the timezone the user is in.

Microservices

I have also been implementing Microservices that allow me and other administrators to update the website with new products, formats, and availabilities by getting and sending in lists of products/formats/availabilities.

Additionally, these microservices will allow us to update availabilities for different formats/versions of different products.

Currently, I am to get into becoming an affiliate for different online stores and storefronts so that the website has a source of funding to keep the servers going. As well, it opens up the opportunity to allow users to subscribe to different products and formats so that they can get an email letting them know about a sale, a new availability, or a new format that they can purchase a product on.

Future Updates

Fuzzy and Time zone Dates

Fuzzy dates will be depending on the amount of time that something was last updated. This will be things like updated a few seconds ago, updated 12 days ago, update a few months ago, etc.

Time zone dates will be based on the user’s time zone. This one will be a bit trickier to implement but I think it will be well worth it.

Versioning for Formats

One of the main things I want to get done before I open the floodgates for people to be able to sign up for editing access is for different format entries to have different versions to be able to roll back to a previous version. I’m going to try and implement it in a way that is similar to GitHub pushes and Wikipedia article versions.

Relevancy searches

Lastly, I want to implement relevancy searches to the website so that it is easier for users to find what they are looking for based on how relevant a result is to their search. Many stores and websites already have this implemented in their sites so it shouldn’t be too difficult to do so.
